TAIPEI -- Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. on Thursday said the recovery in the smartphone and PC markets was milder than expected, limiting the pace of global semiconductor growth for 2024 despite demand for generative AI computing remaining strong.

C.C. Wei, TSMC's CEO, on Thursday said the company expects revenue to grow quarter to quarter in 2024 but that the chipmaker remains cautious about global consumer electronics sentiment being affected by macroeconomics and geopolitical uncertainties.
