HONG KONG -- Macao kicked off a casino licensing review process on Friday as Malaysia's Genting Group made a surprise bid to unseat one of the gaming hub's six current operators.
GMM Limited, a holding company controlled by Genting Chairman Lim Kok Thay, submitted its application just hours before a Wednesday deadline, with representatives from rival casino companies wheeling large stacks of documents to a government office.
