SEOUL -- Hyundai Motor Group affiliate Kia aims to double hybrid sales by 2028, releasing hybrid versions of existing nine major models as the automaker reconsiders its focus on the competitive electric vehicle market.

At an investor day event on April 5, Kia CEO Song Hosung outlined the company's shift in plans, sparked by slowing EV demand.
