Japan and EU to unify subsidy rules for EVs, solar panels

TOKYO/BRUSSELS -- Japan and the European Union will agree as early as May to create common rules on government subsidies and procurement targeting electric vehicles and renewable energy equipment, Nikkei has learned.

The two sides aim to build a supply chain based on such common principles as sustainability, transparency and reliability, according to a draft ministerial agreement.
