KUALA LUMPUR -- Indonesian President-elect Prabowo Subianto has ripped into scholars critical of him in recent weeks, raising concerns among academics that they may be forced to self-censor once he takes power in October.

Analysts warn that self-censorship could deter foreign investors, who require objective, independent assessments to make decisions about whether to put their money into projects.
